Today's Focus

05.03.24 - Happy Friday! We are hoping that the spouse gets a positive call about his job prospects today; everyone send good vibes! It's a gorgeous day so the vibes in the environment are on our side as well.

Work - So yesterday I ended up doing 3 mailings: 2 normal ones (an efile out to a plaintiff for DRM, and a cover letter & Rule 26 mailing for DDR) and a super extra large one. CSB also filed a Rule 26, but his case has been ongoing much longer and so the filing was also much larger. Nearly a thousand pages printed and shipped out to the correctional facility via FedEx for the I/I plaintiff. You can imagine the kind of time that took.

However, I have nothing more to do today except lazily argue with NYM to add players to cases, and knock out a mandatory training that's due Monday. I am glad I work from home on Friday for this very reason; DRM asked for another mailing this morning but it can't be my problem.

Background Noise - Well I'm remote working so the background noise will mostly be the DVR, except for a couple half hours or so of downtime and when I cook.

I did 21 videos yesterday and I'm super surprised and proud of myself for that.

Study - Friday is Wikipedia day, so I'll try to read some more pages - particularly those on my phone and tablet - today and over the weekend.

So I did get busy enough yesterday that I didn't read a single page of a book; however, I did read four press releases, five articles on the cost of living, two articles on the Post Office Horizon scandal, and three Wikipedia pages on my phone while I stood at the printer.

I might try to read a couple of pages of some of my books over the weekend, since I did Wiki stuff yesterday.

Extras - Friday, so I have to clean the catbox and prep it for the weekend; I want to do some stuff outside and in my basement as well. It's going to rain this evening so I have comfort food planned - homemade shrimp ramen for dinner. Literally finishing the last two episodes of Turboranger tonight, and the very last episode of Freakazoid; starting The Tick animated series, & continuing with Garo over the weekend so I can finish up Carranger next week. Mini-essay done early; looking like I might get another full essay posted today as well. Go me!

Happy (late) Birthday Hanamaru! I regret being late with this one - the weekend hit me with an awful cold which has only really gotten worse, so I've been chugging along slowly between coughing and sneezing fits... Mitaiken Horizon is my favourite aqours group song, and has been since its release 2 and a half years ago. Which is really funny, because I was one of the Yoshiko-stans desperately voting every day for the Yohane Center we all craved (and that was now 3 centers she had a clear lead on, only to be snubbed at the end...!!). At first, I was devastated Hanamaru won - as far as Aqours goes she was at the bottom of my favourites ranking; I mean, someone has to be, and the anime kind of played her off as a gag character 90% of the time. But when the song released and I heard King's powerful vocals, and saw the beautiful visuals and lyrics, it really blew me away. I love sketching the girls in these gorgeous outfits, and this is honestly the first birthday pic I went in knowing exactly what to draw right off the bat. I'm so glad this song exists, and glad that Hanamaru was really given the chance to really shine. I really, really hope one day Aqours will perform it at a live! I'm looking at you, 6th Live Windy Stage... Also...is this my first Hanamaru drawing on this blog??
